Inscription

On a slab lying in the Maruti temple, this inscription is engraved in characters of about the 11th century CE is divided into two parts. The 1st part tells that in the time of the western Chalukya king Taila –II in Saka of 11 Vikrita, there was a Sinda prince named Pulikala who had a son named Mahasamanta Nagatiyarasa. It registers a grant of land which had been made by Nagatiyarasa’s grandson Sevyarasa who was a vassal of Bhuvanaikamalladeva (Somesvara-II).
