Mahal at Ainapur in field

Vijayapura
Others

A small building stands in the fields at a short distance to the west of Ainapur village, built for the accommodation of some noble man, a employ of the Sultan. There is an inscription above the doorway which does not give any date or name of the person. The building is divided into two parts, the front open hall and the three rooms. The latter has small chambers that could be closed by hanging purdhas across the central arch. There are two fine terraces on the roof which were used probably for sleeping during the hot summer. The interior of the building is provided with grilled and latticed window for the sake of privacy of the women.
