The Mubarak Khan’s Mahal

Vijayapura
Mosque

A couple of three storied small buildings lying side by side, are situated in the south – east quarter of the city. Mubarak Khan was one of the slaves belonging to the reign of king Ibrahim II. He has risen to power and together with Khawas Khan, a fellow slave, who had also risen to power, met with a violent death. Both were beheaded and their heads were taken to Randaulah Khan in a basket, probably for their antagonistic political views. This building is surrounded by the water pavilions.
