Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

On the eve of Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October, 2016, Archaeological Survey of India, Delhi Circle has organized major cleanliness drive at three World Heritage Monuments viz-a-viz Aadarsh Smaraks i.e., Red Fort, Qutb and Humayun’s Tomb along with minor activities at other monuments in joint collaboration with Delhi Circle, Delhi Mini Circle and Horticulture Division-II. The detailed activities are as follows:

  •   The cleanliness drive was started around 9:00 AM involving about 50-60 school children, 15-20 NCC cadets along with ASI and SIS staff started the cleanliness drive.
  •   This cleanliness drive continued till 12:00 AM and in between Hon’ble Minister of Culture along with the Secretary (Culture), DG, ASI and other secretarial staff visited all the three World Heritage Monuments for the inspection of the same.
  •   Many visitors were also motivated by this drive and the team was successful in persuading these visitors to participate in the cleanliness drive.
  •   Awareness regarding the use of polythene bags was also circulated among the visitors to the monuments by means of advertisement through eco-friendly flex as well as through personal request.
